Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's population is predominantly Shona, with a large Ndebele minority and a small white community much reduced by land reform. English, Shona, and Ndebele are the principal languages among 16 officially recognized tongues.

Christianity is the dominant faith, often blended with traditional beliefs.

Society

Zimbabwe has high literacy — long among Africa's best — but economic collapse has driven millions to emigrate, especially to South Africa, in search of work.
