Geography

Afghanistan is a landlocked country in south-central Asia. It is mountainous with the average elevation being 4, 000 feet. The Hindu Kush range divides the country into the central highlands, the northern plains and the southwestern plateuau. The Khyber Pass connects the cities of Kabul and Peshawar ( Pakistan)

Climate: Afghanistan is dry marked by seasonal extremes. The Winters are very cold and the summers are very hot. In July the temperature in Jalabad can rise to 120F and in Kabul it can drop in the winter to -24 F.
