June 7 - One Soldier was killed and four others were wounded when they were ambushed near Tikrit. The US soliders were attacked with rocket propelled grenades.
June 9th - US soliers launched Operation Peninsula Strike- The operation was designed to capture Ba'ath loyalists and others on a peninsual along the Tigris River north of Baghdad.
June 12th - A US Apache attack helicopter was shot down by hostile fire in Western Iraq. The crew was rescued/.
June 12 Paul Bremer states that the violence is not centrally directed Bremer Statement.
June 24th Secretary of Defense Rumsfield speaks about the violence. Press Conference.
June 24th Six British troops were killed in Southern Iraq. When other troops tried to come to their rescue eight other troops were wounded.
