Marshall Islands

Marshallese are a Micronesian people, speaking Marshallese alongside English. The population is small and concentrated on a few atolls, with many Marshallese having migrated to the United States.

Christianity, predominantly Protestant, is the dominant faith.

Society

The Marshall Islands has moderate literacy and faces serious challenges from climate change and the lingering health and environmental legacy of US nuclear testing at Bikini and Enewetak.
