Belize

Belize is ethnically diverse — Mestizo, Creole, Maya, and Garifuna — reflecting its unique blend of Central American and Caribbean heritage. English is the official language, with Spanish, Belizean Creole, and others widely spoken.

Religious life is mostly Christian, split among Roman Catholic and Protestant denominations.

Belize has a young, growing, diverse population and moderate literacy, with the smallest population of any mainland Central American country and a strong link to the Caribbean.
