April 9th Iraqi Government Abandons Baghdad.
The rule of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad came to an end on this day. Iraqis miliatary and civilian workers disappeared from Baghdad. Coalition forces entered central Baghdad. The day ended with the toppling of the statue of Hussien.
