March 29th- The Battle for Nasiriya.
The battle for Nasiriya continued with the US marines making steady progress. On this day the Iraqis sent a suicide bomber against a US checkpoint killing four US soldiers.
The 101st Airborne launched a long range attack on Karbala. Air attacks continued and seemed to intensify over Baghdad. In the North the Iraqis withdrew to new lines closer to the strategic city of Kirkurk.
