Nominated: Thomas E Dewey for President.

Nominated: John W Bricker of Ohio for Vice President.

Wendell Willkie who had been the 1940 nominee competed to be the 1944 nominee but after coming in third in the Wisconsin primary it was clear that he did not have support among the Republican base. The front runner when the convnetion opened was Thomas Dewey. Dewey was nominated on the first ballot.
