Nominated: Alf M Landon of Kansas for President.

Nominated: Frank Knox of Illinois for Vice President.

Alf Landon the governor of Kansas was the only serious contendor for the Republican nomination in 1936. He was nominated on the first ballot. The convention supported a number of the popular New Deal programs such as Social Security.
