Nominated: Martin Van Buren, of New York for President.

Nominated : for Richard M. Johnson of Kentucky for Vice President.

The party convention was held a year earlier to insure that the party would support President Jackson candidate Vice President Van Buren. The convention duly unanimously but reluctantly approved the selection. Richard M Johnson who was best known for having shot Tecumseh in the War of 1812 was nominated to be Vice President.
