Presidential Election held in Afghanistan

ELECTIONS HELD IN AFGHANISTAN

On Octotober 9th 2004 the Afghans went to the polls to elect a President. The elections were largely peaceful and President Karazai who had been the interim President was elected to be President under the terms of the new constitution of Afghanistan.
