Day 55 of the Obama Administration

Day Fifty-Six March 17, 2009

The President began the day with a meeting with the House and Sentat Budget Committee Chairman. After the meeting the President made a statement on the budget.

After making his statement the President received his economic briefing. He and the Vice President then met with the Taoeseach of Ireland Brian Cowen. They all then went on the attent a Shamrock ceremony. Next the President met with officials from Northern Ireland. The Presidents day continued by attending Spreaker of House Nancy Pelosi's St Patrick Day Lunch. Following that he received his daily security briefing and met with Secretary of Defense Gates.
