July 21, 1961 - Mercury Redstone 4

The flight of Mercury 4th last 15 minutes and 30 seconds. On board was astronaut Gus Grissom. All went according to plan until the capsule landed in the sea and the hatch cover blew off. Grissom almost drowned but was rescued.
