Our brother in law would love to hear from any other sailors from the Shangri_La. He will be 80 years old in May and is just as proud to have served as he was the day he went in. He is a Pearl Harbor survivor, being on the USS Tennessee when she was hit.

Sailor=Dave Andrews
Service Dates=2/63 -10/66

=I remember in 1964 we were in the Med.and
close to Cannes France. Some E-2 snipe opened the
wrong valve and we dumped thousands of gallons of oil
on the beaches . Needless to say, it was a long hard
job of cleaning up miles of beaches. On a shakedown
cruise out of Phila yards we went to Kingston . Ron
Bruton aka ...big dumb Chuck Minning aka...Gook and
yours truly Dave Andrews aka Odie were trying to get
to the red light district
