Sailor: Leaneul A Parrotte

Was on board the Oriskany when aircraft with hanging 200 lb General Purpose bomb landed. Bomb exploded, I believe that 3 men were killed. Pilot was saved by a man named Donivan who at risk of his own life pulled the pilot from the plane. This happened in the afternoon. Damage to ship which consisted of a hole in # 2 elevator approx. 12 feet square was repaired within 24 hours by personell from "R Division". This was in Korean conflict.
