Margaret, a cargo ship, was acquired by the Navy from A. H. Bull Steamship Go., New York, N.Y., 13 March 1918; commissioned 25 March 1918; and assigned to the 3d Naval District under NOTS before she was renamed Chatham (q.v.) 18 April 1918.
