Manito II, a wooden motor yacht built in 1912 by Hudson Yacht & Boat Co., Nyack, N.Y.; was purchased by the Navy 10 May 1917 from Mr. I. K. Keyward; and commissioned the same day,.

Assigned to the 6th Naval District, Manito operated on section patrol based at Charleston, S.C., throughout the war. She was sold 25 March 1920.
