Snowdrop II

Snowdrop—a launch built in 1897 at Morris Heights N.Y., for the United States Lighthouse Service—was transferred to the Navy in April 1917 with the entire Lighthouse Service. She operated in the 7th Naval District throughout World War I and was returned to her prewar status on 1 July 1919 when the Lighthouse Service reverted to control by the Department of Commerce.
