Manteo YTM-751

A town in eastern North Carolina named for an Indian chief of Roanoke Island in 1585, , when Sir Walter Raleigh established the first English settlement there.

The tug LT-2092 was acquired from the Army in July 1962. She was named Manteo and classified YTM-751 on 21 January 1963. In the following years, through 1968, she has provided tug and miscellaneous towing duties for the 10th Naval district at San Juan, P.R.
