Iwara YT-2

Iwara (YT-2) was laid down in April 1891 by City Point Iron Works, Boston, Mass.; launched 12 March 1892; and was assigned to the 1st Naval District for harbor duties.

Iwana performed towing operations and miscellaneous services out of Boston from 1892 until early 1946.

Her name was dropped 5 October 1942, and she operated as YT-2 until reclassifled YTM-2 on 15 lifay i944. She was transferred to WSA, 20 March 1946.
