Woonsocket II

The second Woonsocket (YTM-754), a medium harbor tug, was acquired by the Navy in 1964 from the Army which she had served as LT-1965. Renamed Woonsocket and designated YTM-754, she was placed in service in September 1964 and was assigned to the 1st Naval District. She plied waters in the vicinity of Boston until April of 1968 when she was reassigned to the 5th Naval District at Norfolk, VA. She served there until September of 1975 at which time she was placed out of service. Her name was concurrently struck from the Navy list, and she was subsequently sold.
