William F. McCauley

William F. McCauley (listed in some contemporary merchant shipping registers as William F. McCaulley) —a steel-hulled, screw, steam tug built in 1894 by J. H. Dialogue and Sons of Camden, N.J.—was chartered by the Navy from the Propeller Tow Boat Co., Savannah Ga, and simultaneously commissioned on 13 April 1918. Designated SP-2360, William F. McCauley performed tug services in the 12th Naval District for the duration of World War I. She was returned to her prewar owners about a fortnight after the cessation of hostilities, on 26 November 1918. She was simultaneously struck from the Navy list.
