Etna

The second Etna, a brig, was purchased at New Orleans in 1813 to replace the first. Her first commanding officer was Sailing Master J. D. Ferriss.

Stationed at New Orleans through the War of 1812 Etna in March 1814 seized the Spanish schooner Terrible for violation of the embargo and sent her in to be libelled. In November 1814, Etna was found unfit for naval service, and in 1817 she was broken up, all valuable materials first being salvaged.
