Ann Hutchinson Protests

Ann Hutchinson arrived in Massachusetts and soon began to hold religious meetings in her home. The meetings were originally for women only, but soon both men and women began attending. She was tried by the Puritan clergy on charges that included actions "not fitting for her sex." She was found guilty and banished to Rhode Island.
