Renaissance artist brought new skills to art. Renaissance art stressed the use of perspective and light. In addition the artist of the period made a special effort to depict human anatomy and movement more realistically. Masaccio who painted frescoes in Florence is considered the first of the Renaissance painters. The High Renaissance in Europe was known for Leonardo De Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo.
