Women in the Ottoman Empire
Women in the Ottoman Empire were subjected to the same restriction as women in other Muslim societies. Women in the Ottoman Empire were treated somewhat more liberally, with women be allowed to won property. They could not be forced into marriage and they were allowed to seek divorce under certain circumstances.
