Growing protests to the war resulted in larger and larger demonstrations throughout the United States against the war. On October 15th 1969 nationwide strikes were called and hundreds of thousand participated throughout the US. On November 15th, 1969 a March on Washington was held. It was the largest demonstration against the war with 500,000 attending. At the rally Pete Seeger sang “Give Peace a Chance”.
