U.S.–China Trade Agreement

On July 26th, 1979 President Carter signed the Trade Act Bill. The bill, which was the culmination of the Tokyo Round of trade talks, reduced further tariffs on a wide range of items, and introduced a mechanism to handle unfair trade practices.
