Hezbollah Attacks Israeli Troops in Israel Kidnaps Two

On July 12� 2006 Hezbollah militiamen crossed the Israeli border and ambushed an Israeli patrol. During the ambush three Israeli soldiers were killed and two were kidnapped.� In the immediate� aftermath of the kidnapping and additional five Israeli soldiers were killed when they attempted to pursue the attackers.� The attacks took place as the Hezbollah attacked positions across Northern Israel with artillery fire and missiles.
