The main MAJOR BATTLE screen provides a easy entry point to the major battles of the war.
Once you reach a major battle, you can choose either a dramatic battle narration, (which includes animated maps and period music), the photo archive, or original first-hand accounts by battle participants.
A special part of the program is devoted to the biographies and photos of nearly 400 UNION and CONFEDERATE GENERALS that orchestrated America's bloodiest battle. There is also a section on other leading personalities
In-depth timelines of the events in RICHMOND & WASHINGTON try to put battlefield action into perspective. The Washington section includes the full text of many of Lincoln's speeches.
The PHOTO ARCHIVES allows you quick access to the thousands of photos and drawings in the program, all of which can be printed or exported with a click of a mouse.
The STATISTICS section includes dozens of charts on battlefied statistics.
An entire section is devoted to A day- to-day chronology is included. The naval chronology is linked to over 200 naval photos included in the program.
MEDICAL CARE in the war receives special notice, with dozens of photos and an essay by a contemporary physician on care for the wounded.
A special section which includes photos and narration depicts the special role that RAILROADS played in the conflict.
There are also sections on the ECONOMICS of the Civil War, AMERICA of the period and the status of AMERICANS of different ethnic heritages during the war.
