Baseball legend Joe DiMaggio was born on November 25, 1914 in Martinez California. DiMaggio dropped out of hight school and played for the San Francisco Seals a minor league club. He play his entire professional career with the New York Yankees, where he represented a singular kind of athletic grace and dignity.

His hit streak of 56 games thrilled the nation in 1941. In his thirteen seasons, the Yankees played in the World Series 10 times and won 9 of them. Voted Most Valuable Player in the American League three times, DiMaggio was considered perhaps the best centerfielder to ever play the game. His lifetime batting average was .325.
