Frank Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey. He dropped out of high school and worked a number of jobs before getting his first break in the Music Industry by joining a local singing group called the 3 Flashes. His first solo record was Our Love.
Frank Sinatra made his name in the Big Band Era. Nicknamed "The Voice," Sinatra ranks as one of the greatest show business talents of the 20th century. He moved easily from music to films, scoring successes in such movies as On The Town (1949), Guys and Dolls (1955) and the drama From Here to Eternity (1953), for which he received an Academy Award.
His musical hits included "Come Rain or Come Shine," "In the Wee Small Hours," "Strangers in the Night" and what became known as his signature song, "My Way."
