Bache, Sarah Franklin (1743-1808) Wartime Relief Worker: The youngest child of Benjamin and Deborah Franklin, Sarah Franklin married Richard Bache in 1767, and bore eight children. After a decade devoted to her family, she joined Esther De Berdt Reed's fund-raising committee in Philadelphia. The committee organized women to further the patriot war effort and, after Reed died, Bache took over responsibility for the continued activities of the organization.
