Day Seventy Nine April 9, 2009

The President began his day with his national security briefing. He then met with his senior advisors. That meeting was followed by his daily economic briefing. His last scheduled meeting was with Secretary of Treasury Geithner, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke , FDIC Chair Shelia Blaiar, SEC Chair Mary Shapiro and Comptroller of the Currency John Dungan. After the meeting the President gave remarks on the state of the ecnonomy. In those remarks he stated "We're starting to see glimmers of hope across the econony" but that the economy is "still under severestress."
