The President began his day with his security and economic briefings. At 12PM the President met with Economic Recovery Advisory Board headed by Paul Volcker. After the meeting the President state " I want to emphasize is that we are spending every day working through how to get credit flowing again so that businesses, large and small, as well as consumers, are able to obtain credit and we can get this economy moving again." The President then had his weekly private lunch with the Vice President. In the course of the day the President spoke by phone with President Arroyo of the Philippines, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, President Yudhoyono of Indonesia and President Fernandez de Kirchner of Argentina.
