Brown v. Board of Education

The Supreme Court issued its most important Civil Rights ruling in the case of Brown v. Board of Education. In the unanimous ruling, it stated that "separate but equal" was inherently unequal. It thus oveturned the 1869 decision of Plessy v. Ferguson. The decision, thus, led to the large scale integration of Public Education that followed.
