LST-400
LST-400 was laid down on 28 September 1942 at the Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Co.; launched on 23 November 1942; sponsored by Miss Judith Flaxington; and commissioned on 7 January 1943. During World War II, LST-400 was assigned to the European theater and participated in the Sicilian occupation in July 1943 and the invasion of Normandy in June 1944. Following the war, LST-400 was redesignated Bradley County (LST-400) on 1 July 1955 after counties in Arkansas and Tennessee. The tank landing ship was transferred to Taiwan as a grant in aid in September 1958 where she served as Chung Suo (LST-217). She was struck from the Navy list on 25 April 1960. LST-400 earned two battle stars for World War II service.
LST - 401
LST - 401 was laid down on 17 August 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 16 October 1942; delivered to the United Kingdom on 30 November 1942 and commissioned in the Royal Navy that same day. LST-401 never saw active service in the United States Navy. She served in the Royal Navy through the end of World War II and was returned to the custody of the United States Navy on 7 March 1946. On 5 June 1946, less than three months after her return, she was struck from the Navy list; and, on 11 October 1947, she was sold to Luria Brothers & Co., of Philadelphia, Pa.
LST-402
LST-402 was laid down on 21 August 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 9 October 1942; and transferred to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 9 December 1942. LST-402 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was decommissioned and returned to United States Navy custody on 24 September 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 10 June 1947. She was subsequently sold for scrap.
LST-403
LST-403 was laid down on 23 August 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 24 October 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 8 December 1942. LST-403 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was decommissioned and returned to United States Navy custody on 11 April 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 5 June 1946. On 5 December 1947, the ship was sold to Bosey, Philippines, for scrapping.
LST-404
LST-404 was laid down on 27 August 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 28 October 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 16 December 1942. LST-404 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was struck from the Navy list on 14 October 1944. She was decommissioned, returned to United States Navy custody on 21 October 1945, sold through the auspices of the State Department in November 1946, and subsequently scrapped.
LST-405
LST-405 was laid down on 30 August 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 31 October 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 28 December 1942. LST-405 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was sunk on 27 March while in Royal Navy service. LST-405 was struck from the Navy list on 17 April 1946.
LST-406
LST-406 was laid down on 1 September 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 28 October 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 26 December 1942. LST-406 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was decommissioned and returned to United States Navy custody on 11 April 1946. She was struck from the Navy list on 10 June 1947. On 5 December 1947, LST-406 was sold to Bosey, Philippines, for scrapping.
LST-407
LST-407 was laid down on 2 September 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 5 November 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 31 December 1942. LST-407 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was damaged beyond repair on 24 April 1944 and beached off Baia, Italy. The hulk was accepted by the United States Navy on 6 May 1945. On 11 July 1945, LST-407 was struck from the Navy list. Sometime in July 1945, she was sold to a local Italian firm and scrapped.
LST-408
LST-408 was laid down on 9 September 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 31 October 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 23 December 1942. LST-408 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was decommissioned and returned to United States Navy custody on 4 May 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 19 June 1946. On 5 December 1947, LST-408 was sold to Bosey, Philippines, and subsequently scrapped.
LST-409

LST-409 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was decommissioned and returned to United States Navy custody on 2 July 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 29 October that same year. Sometime between 21 November 1946 and 6 January 1947, LST-409 was sold to Greece.
LST-410
LST-410 was laid down on 13 September 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 15 November 1942; and delivered to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 14 January 1943. LST-410 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was struck from the Navy list on 26 February 1946. She was returned to United States Navy custody and decommissioned on 16 April 1947. On 13 February 1948, LST-410 was sold to Bosey, Philippines, and subsequently scrapped.
LST-411

LST - 414 was laid down on 18 October 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 21 November 1942; and transferred to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 19 January 1943. LST 414 saw no active service in the United States Navy. She was lost in action in August 1943 and struck from the Navy list on 24 November 1943.
LST-415
LST-415 was laid down on 29 October 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 21 November 1942; and transferred to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 19 January 1943. LST-415 saw no active service in the United States Navy. She was torpedoed and beached off Thurrock, England, on 16 January 1945. The tank landing ship was returned to United States Navy custody and struck from the Navy list on 2 June 1945. The ship was sold to a local British firm in January 1948 and subsequently scrapped.

LST-420 saw no active service in the United States Navy. She was sunk on 28 November 1944 while in Royal Navy service. LST-420 was struck from the Navy list on 2 June 1945.

LST-421 saw no active service in the United States Navy. She was decommissioned and returned to United States Navy custody on 29 November 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 1 August 1947. The tank landing ship was sold to the Tung Hwa Trading Co., Singapore, on 7 October 1947 and converted for merchant service.

LST-422 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was lost in action while in Royal Navy service in January 1944. She was struck from the Navy list on 16 May 1944.

On 29 December 1947, she was sold to the Northern Metals Co., Philadelphia, Pa., and subsequently scrapped.

LST-430

LST-430 saw no active service in the United States Navy. On 12 October 1947, she was sold to the Northern Metals Co., Philadelphia, Pa., and subsequently scrapped. LST-431 through LST-445 Contracts for LST-431 through LST-445 were cancelled on 16 September 1942.
LST-446
LST-446 was laid down on 15 June 1942 at Vancouver, Wash., by Kaiser, Inc.; launched on 18 September 1942; and commissioned on 30 November 1942, Lt. H. A. Swartz, USNR, in command. During World War II, LST-446 was assigned to the Asiatic- Pacific theater and participated in the following operations: Consolidation of southern Solomons - March through June 1943 New Georgia Group operation: (a) New Georgia-Rendova-Vangunu occupation- July and August 1943 (b) Vella Lavella occupation-August 1943 Treasury-Bouganville operation: (a) Occupation and defense of Cape Torokina - November and December 1943 Green Islands landing-February 1944 Capture and occupation of Guam-JuIy 1944 Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto-April 1945 Following the war, LST-446 performed occupation duty in the Far East until mid-December 1945. Upon her return to the United States, the tank landing ship was decommissioned on 13 July 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 8 October that same year. On 10 February 1947, she was sold to the Suwannee Fruit & Steamship Co., of Jacksonville, Fla., for conversion to merchant service. LST-446 earned six battle stars and the Navy Unit Commendation for service in World War II.
LST-447
LST-447 was laid down on 10 July 1942 at Vancouver, Wash., by Kaiser, Inc.; launched on 22 September 1942; and commissioned on 13 December 1942. During World War II, LST-447 was assigned to the Asiatic- Pacific theater and participated in the following operations: Consolidation of southern Solomons-June 1943 Occupation and defense of Cape Torokina-November and December 1943 Green Islands landings--February 1944 Hollandia operation-April 1944 Capture and occupation of Guam-July and August 1944 Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto April 1945. The tank landing ship was sunk off Okinawa on 7 April 1945 following a kamikaze attack. She was struck from the Navy list on 2 June 1945. LST-447 earned five battle stars and the Navy Unit Commendation for World War II service.
LST-448
LST-448 was laid down on 10 July 1942 at Vancouver, Wash., by Kaiser, Inc.; launched on 26 September 1942; and commissioned on 23 December 1942. During World War II, LST-448 was assigned to the Asiatic- Pacific theater and participated in the consolidation of the southern Solomons in June 1943 and the Vella Lavella occupation in October 1943. The tank landing ship was bombed and sunk on 5 October 1943 off the Solomon Islands. She was struck from the Navy list on 26 October 1943. LST-448 earned two battle stars and the Navy Unit Commendation for World War II service.
LST-449
LST-449 was laid down on 10 July 1942 at Vancouver, Wash., by Kaiser, Inc.; launched on 30 September 1942; and commissioned on 31 December 1942. During World War II, LST-449 was assigned to the Asiatic- Pacific theater and participated in the following operations: Consolidation of southern Solomons - April through June 1943 Occupation and defense of Cape Torokina-November and December 1943 Capture and occupation of Guam-July 1944 Assault and occupation of Iwo Jima-February 1945 Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto-April 1945 Following the war, LST-449 performed occupation duty in the Far East until early November 1945. She returned to the United States and was decommissioned on 16 March 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 28 March that same year. On 27 January 1947, the tank landing ship was sold to a private purchaser for scrapping. LST-449 earned five battle stars and the Navy Unit Commendation for World War II service.
LST-450
LST-450 was laid down on 10 July 1942 at Vancouver, Wash., by Kaiser, Inc.; launched on 4 October 1942; and commissioned on 6 January 1943. During World War II, LST-450 was assigned to the Asiatic- Pacific theater and participated in the following operations: Capture and occupation of Saipan-June through July 1944 Tinian capture and occupation-July 1944 Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto-April 1945 Following the war, LST-450 was redesignated LSTH-450 on 15 September 1945. She performed occupation duty in the Far East until early December 1945. Upon her return to the United States, the tank landing ship was decomissioned on 8 April 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 17 April that same year. On 16 April 1948, the ship was sold to the Bethlehem Steel Co., of Bethlehem, Pa., and subsequently scrapped. LSTH-450 earned three battle stars and the Navy Unit Commendation for World War II service as LST-450.
