June 1963- President Kennedy's Schedule

1 President Kennedy began his day by meeting Feridun Erkin the Foreign Minister of Turkey. He then met with Dean Rusk who had participated in the meeting. The President next met with the new Ambassador of the Dominican Republic. The President next met with Orville Freeman and Michael Freeman. The President next met with Lyubomir Popov the new Ambassador of Bulgaria. The President then had a large meeting that lasted from 11:30 to 12:45 on a message on Civil Rights. The Vice President and Robert Kennedy were participants. In the early afternoon the President flew to Camp David.
2 President Kennedy attends church services and relaxes with his family and guests at Camp David, Maryland.
3 President Kennedy returned to Washington. The President met with LBJ, Senator Humphrey, Congressman McCormack, Congressman Carl Albert, Congressman Hale Boggs. After Lunch the President Met with President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan of India one on one in the Oval Office. After a 20 minute one on one meeting the staff joined the meeting. The President next met with the Greek Minister of Coordination. The President next met with RFK, Lawrence O'Brien and Ken O'Donnell. The President's last meeting of the day was with Congressman. In the evening the President hosted a State Dinner for President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan of India .
4 The President greeted Austrailian Youth Group. He then spoke to the World Food Congress. The President received member of the Senior Seminar in Foreign Policy. The President met with representatives of the National War Colleges. The President had a meeting with the Norwegian Ambassador. He then participated in a parade in honor of President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The President attended a luncheon in his honor at the Indian Embassy. After the luncheon the two President continued their meetings . The President met with a group of businessmen and urged them to help to end segregation of business. The President next met with the Minister of Scientific Affairs of France. He then met with the German Minister for Scientific Research.
5 The President flew to Colorado Springs. The President addressed the graduating class of the US Air Force Academy. The President then visited NORAD headquarters. He then traveled to White Sands New Mexico to visit White Sands Missile Range. The President then traveled to El Paso.
6 The President flew to San Diego. He then gave an the commencement address at San Diego State College. The President then visited a Marine Corp Recruiting Depot. The President spoke before 10,000 military personnel. the President then flew aboard to the USS Oriskany. He then flew to USS Kitty Hawk. The President spoke to the crew and stayed overnight on the Kitty Hawk.
7 President Kennedy departed the USS Kitty Hawk . He then went to t to the China Lake Naval Air Facility. He watched a 90 minute demonstration of naval weapons. In the evening the President attended a Democratic Fund raising dinner.
8 President Kennedy addresses a breakfast in his honor given by Democratic State Committeewomen of California, Los Angeles. The President the flew to Hawaii.
9 The President began his day by going to the base chapel. The President visited the Memorial to the USS Arizona. The President then addressed the US Conference of Mayors. The President then returned to Washington.
10 The President arrived in Washington from Honolulu at 8:50 AM. After a short stay in the White House the President traveled to American University . The President gave the Commencement address. It was one of the Presidents most important foreign policy speeches which in retrospect began the process of detente. The President returned to the White House were he signed the Equal Pay Act. After lunch the President met with Bud Wilkinson. The President next had an economic meeting with both Douglas Dillon and William McShensy Martin and others. The President later met separately with William Gossett, Andrew Biemiller and James Hagerty. In the evening the President visited the house of Joseph Alsop together with his brother Senator Teddy Kennedy.
11 The President began his day with a Legislative Leaders Breakfast. The President next met with Dean Rusk. The President's next meeting was with a delegation of Italian Americans. The President next met with John Cabot the Ambassador to Poland. The President's next meeting was with David Bruce the US Ambassador to Great Britain. The President next met with Ian Maclead the leader of the House of Commons. The Presidents next had a meeting with Senators Everett Dirksen, Charles Halleck, Thomas Kuchel, Congressman Leslie Arends and the Vice President. The President next met with Wilson Wyatt, Walter Levy, Abram Chayes and Averell Harriman. Next the President met with Edward R Murrow. His next meeting was with Andre Fontaine. The President then met with James Webb. at 8:00 PM the President addressed the Nation concerning event at the University of Alabama in connection with the desegregation of the University.
12 The President began his day with a meeting with Senator Barry Goldwater. The President then met with Senator Henry Cabot Lodge. The President next had a meeting with winners of the Distinguished Civilian Service Award. Next the President participated in a ceremony in connection with Tools for Freedom Program- ( The Raytheon Company presented a complete school to the Philippines). The President met with Congressman Clark Thompson. The President next met with William Attwood the US Ambassador to Guinea. After Lunch the President met President Eisenhower and Vice President Johnson. After meeting with O'Donnel, Bundy and Sorenson the President ended his formal day.
13 President Kennedy started his day with a Bipartisan Legislative Leaders Meeting. The President then went to the Stafford Hotel where he spoke to the National Council of Senior Citizens. After Lunch the met with a group of labor leaders. President Truman joined them. The President met with President Truman and the former President joined him with a meeting with Congressman.
14 The President began his day with a meeting with Glenn Seaborg. The President next met with Prime Minister of Jamaica Sir Alexander Bustamante. The President next met with George Brown Deputy Leader of the Labor Party. The President met with Chung Yul Kim the new Ambassador of Korea. The President next met with Mrs Lopez Mateos. After Lunch the President met with Ambassador of Chile. The President next met with Franklin D Roosevelt Jr and Congressman Carl Perkins. The President next met with Chester Bowles and Phillips Talbot. The President next met with Sorensen. The President met with Corporation Editors of McCall corporation. The President had a late meeting on Civil Rights.
15 The President started his day with a meeting with Dean Rusk, John McCloy, Philllips Talbotts, Herman Eits, John McCone, William Foster, Paul Nitze and James Grant. The President next met with Willard Wirtz, E Hallman, Levertt Edwards, C MCgree, HE Gilbert Louis Wagner, Neil Speirs, Roy Davidson, Ray McDonald, Ray McDonald, Samuel Phillips, CE Wolfe, John Gaherin, and Harold Neitert. The President next had a meeting with Rep. Wilbur Mills of Arkansas, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman. The President then headed for Camp David.

17 The President returned from Camp David. The President met with Thomas Kienan the Ambassador from Ireland. The President next met with a Bipartisan group of the Leadership of the Congress. The President next me with Ambassador of Afghanistan Mohammed Hashim Maiwandwal. The President next hosted a luncheon for the National Historical Publications Group. The President greeted a large group of religious leaders. The President last meeting was with Robert Kennedy, Kenneth O'Donnel, Burke Marshall, Theodore Sorensen, and Norbert Schlei, the meeting ended at 7:30 and the President went to the pool.
18 The President began his day with a Legislative Leaders Breakfast. The President's next meeting with with Raymond Thurston the US Ambassador to Haiti. The President next met with Mr True Davis and Senators Stuart Symington and Senator Long. The President next met with Appiah Danquah from Ghana. The President hosted a Luncheon for Governors. After lunch the President met with Mr Agust Hecksher, then Mrs Margaret Plischke(Interpreter Department of State). The President last meeting was with Robert Kennedy.
19 The President and Adlai Stevenson greeted the Second International Congress on Medical Librianship. The President next met with the Cabinet. The President had a meeting on Laos-attending Rusk, McNamara, Harriman, McCone, McKee, Hilsman, Forrestal and Bundy. After Lunch the President the President had a meeting on civil rights matters with a group of educators. The President met with Mrs Margaret Plischke.
20 The President met representatives of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of America. The President flew to Charleston West Virginia. President Kennedy addresses the state's centennial celebration of admission to the Union. The President returned to Washington.
21 President Kennedy began his day with a meeting on British Buinea. The President then met with Mr and Mrs Edward Breathitt. After Lunch the President met with Governor Farris Bryant of Florida. President Kennedy had a meeting with 244 leading lawyers to discuss the civil rights program. The President had a late afternoon meeting with Senator Monroney, Senator Edmonsdson and Congressman Carl Albert.
22 The President met with Roy Wilkins, Robert Kennedy, Bourke Marshall and Louis Martin. The President then met with Senator Fulbright. The President next met with Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Robert Kennedy and Bourke Marshall . Next the President had a meeting with Robert Kennedy, Vice President Johnson and 30 civil rights leaders including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. The President spent the afternoon at Camp David in the evening he flew to Bonn Germany.
23 The President President Kennedy arrives in Bonn and begins his visit to West Germany. The President spoke to a crowd in Cologne. He then went to Bonn were he addressed another crowd. The President then went on to address the Americans who work at the Embassy. In the evening the President attended a dinner on his behalf at the Palais Schamburg.
24 President Kennedy began the day meeting with Chancellor Konrad Adenauer at the Palais Schaumberg, Bonn, West Germany. He then participated in a Peace Corps ceremony at Villa Hammerschmidt. The President had another set of meetings with German officials. The President then hosted a Press Conference. In the evening the President hosted a dinner in honor of Chancellor Adenauer. at the Embassy Club.
25 The President flew to Hanau Germany and addressed the officers and men of 3rd Armored Division V Corps. The President then traveled to Frankfurt. President Kennedy addressed a crowd in Roemerberg Square. The President then spoke to a crowd assembled in Paulskirche. The President meet with Vice Chancellor Erhard. In the evening he attended a reception at the Kurhaus.
26 President Kennedy traveled to West Berlin. The President met with Trade Union Leaders and visited Check Point CharlieHe addresses an estimated 150,000 people at the Schoneberger Rathaus, Rudolph Wilde Platz, West Berlin, it was here that he uttered the famous word “Ich bin ein Berliner”. A luncheon was held in the President's honor. The President addressed students at the Free University and met with US troops. The President traveled to Dublin Ireland.
27 President Kennedy flew to New Ross Ireland. He gave an address there. He continued to Dunganstown Ireland his ancestral home. He went to the home of Mrs Mary Ryan the Presidents second cousin. The President the traveled to Wexford Ireland. The President participated in a wreath laying ceremony and gave an address. The President then traveled to Dublin. President Kennedy participated in a Garden Party given by the President of Ireland . The President then went on to a Dinner and Reception given by Prime Minister and Mrs Lemas for President Kennedy.
28 President Kennedy went to Cork Ireland, where he spoke. The President went back to Dublin, there he went to a luncheon at the American Embassy. The President then placed a wreath on the grave of Irish heroes of the 1916 Uprising. The President then addressed the Irish Parliament. The President had a private dinner with the President of Ireland.
29 The President traveled to Galway Ireland where the President gave an address. Next the President traveled to Limerick Ireland where he gave a speech. The President then flew to England. President Kennedy arrives at Gatwick Airport in London for a semi-private 24-hour visit at Prime Minister Harold Macmillan's country home. Birch Grove, Sussex, England.
30 The President attended Mass at Our Lady of the Forest Church. The British Prime Minister gave a small luncheon in honor of President Kennedy given by Prime Minister Harold Macmillan. Birch Grove House, Sussex, England. The President traveled to Italy and spent the night in Milan.
