Lockheed P-38 Lightening

The P-38 was the most successful fighter of the war.A total of 9,923 were built. It was the first fighter with two engines,and it was the first US fighter to fly faster then 400 MPH. P-38 was also the first fighter to escort bombers over Berlin, and it downed more Japaneseplanes than any other fighter.
