Day Thirty Seven February 26, 2009

The President began his day by delivering remarks about the 2010 year fiscal budget and the long term budget plan. The plan marks a strong shift from the budgets of President Bush. It calls for an increase on the marginal rates of taxation paid by those making over $250,000. This is a roll back to the Clinton period and will not go in effect for 2 years. The budget will no doubt go down in history for the size of the deficit in its first year. Text of the Presidents remarks

At 10:30 the President received his daily briefing and then at 11:30 met with his senior advisors. At 1 PM the President and Vice President had lunch.

At 2:00 PM the President met with Congressional Black Caucus and at 3PM the President and Vice President met with Secretary of the Treasury Geithner. At 3:45 the President and Vice President met with Secretary of State Clinton. The President ended his official day with a meeting with members of the Chicago Bulls.
