US Casualties

August 1st Seven US Marines were killed in action near Haditha. The Marines were killed in a small arms engagement with terrorists

August 3^rd Ğ A US troop carrier in the city of Haditha was blown up by a huge roadside bomb.Ê Fourteen marines and asÊ Iraqi interpreter were killed .Ê This bombing broughtÊ to 20 the number of Marines killed in Haditha within three days.

August 17th- Three separate car bombs exploded around Baghdad bus station killingÊ 43 Iraqis and wounding 88.Ê The bombings seemed aimed at Shite bus riders of buses.

August 24^th A heavily guard compound in Baquba was attacked by a suicide bomber.Ê The bomber killed either including two Americans

August 31st - Up to 1,000 people die in a stampede on the Al-Aaimmah bridge after rumours of a suicide bomber cause panic amongst pilgrims on the way shrine of the Imam Musa al-Kazim. The pilgrims were on bridge in Northern Baghdad when the panic seized the crowd.
