1946 DC -6 Introduced

On August 8th test pilots Beryl Erickson and Gus Green took the Convair B-36 on a 38 minutes test flight. The aircraft with a wing span of 230 feet and had a range of 10,000 miles. It was orginally designed to allow the bombing of Germany from North America in the event that England was overrun. A total of 385 bombers were delivered to the airforce.
