Day Seventy Three April 3, 2009

The President and first lady departed London in the morning for Strasbourg France. The President then held a meeting with French President Sarkozy. The two then held a joint press conference. Full Remarks

The President then brought his tradition of town hall meetings to Strasbourg. In the meeting the President received a wide range of questions. In the course of the meeting he repeated one major theme, he explained that the Untied States needed to take Europe more seriously, but at the same time there needed to less automatic anti- Americanism in Europe. He also tried to garner increased support for the mission in Afghanistan. Transciript.
