1953 F-100 First Flight

On May 25th 1953 North American aviation test pilot George Welsh flew the YF Super Sabre on its maiden voyage. The Sabre broke the sound barrier on its first flight. The F-100 entered air force serviced in 1954 and remained in service until 1972. A total of 2, 247 of the aircraft were aquired by the airforce.
