The Golden Years


1925 US Airship Shenadoah Crashed

The pride of the US airship fleet, the USS Sehnandoah was ripped apart by a storm over Ohio. Onlyh 14 member of the 43 man crew survived. The US airfleet used Helium instead of the more flammable hydrogen and thus the airship did not explode but was just ripped apart.
