1961 Trident Rolls OUt

On Janaury 9th, Hawker Sidney rolled outs the first Trident jet aircraft. The Trdent was a a three engine plane that could carry 88 passengers up to 930 miles. The plane was origianlly designed to meet the requirement of British European Airlines for a shourt haul plane that could operate in poor weather conditions. The first Trident went into servie for B.E.A in March 1964. A number of other airlines purchsed the Tridents including the Chinese Civil Aviation Authorities.
