Third Battle of Artois

September 1915

The Third Battle of Artois was the final part of an ambitious Allied plan to force the Germans out of Northern France. The French and the British attacked between Ypres and Arras. The battles lasted throughout the fall. Tens of thousands of people died, but little ground changed hands.
