Marine Harrier demonstrates its hover capabilities
Thomas H. Miller, Jr. and Lieutenant Colonel
Clarence M. Baker flew the aircraft in England. The
Harrier was a further development of the Kestrel,
which in early phases received developmental sup-
port from the United States and West Germany as
well as the United Kingdom.
24 November The Apollo 12 Astronauts, an all-
Naval Aviator crew of Richard F. Gordon, Jr., Charles
Conrad, Jr., and Alan 1. Bean, were recovered by HS-4
off Hornet after circling the moon, and in a lunar mod-
ule, landing there with Conrad and Bean on 19
November for 3112 hours.
