Just ran across the Memorial Day Menu of the USS
Chattanooga, anchored in Yokohama, Japan on May 30th, 1909. On the back
is written 'This is my bill a fare, I will send it to your so you will
know I have plenty to eat. your kid, H.E. Black 29th May.'
I believe that H.E. Black was my great grandmother's brother. The menu
reads:
