Grumman F6F Hellcat

The Hellcat was the first American carrier based aircraftthat was better then the Japanese Zero. Of the 6,477 planes downed by U.S.carrier based aircraft 4,947 were downed by the Hellcat. A total of 12,275were produced during World War II.
